Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive takes you through scenic countryside, tea plantations, and local communities. Kibale is known as the primate capital of the world. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, and relax.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before starting chimpanzee trekking. With experienced guides, you will track chimpanzees through the forest and observe them feeding, playing, and interacting.
In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This community-based project is rich in birdlife and primates and offers insight into local conservation efforts. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart Kibale and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey offers beautiful views of rolling hills, forests, and rural landscapes. Arrive in the afternoon, check in at your lodge, and spend the evening preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. You will then enter the dense rainforest with ranger guides in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on their location.
Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, interact, and care for their young. Return to your lodge for relaxation after this incredible experience.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, depart Bwindi and cross into Rwanda, enjoying scenic views of rolling hills and terraced landscapes. Arrive in Kigali in the afternoon, where you can relax at your hotel or visit local craft markets depending on time.
Day 6: Flight to Nairobi and Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, meet your Kenyan guide and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for an evening game drive. The park is known for its rhinos, flamingos, and diverse birdlife. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Game Drive in Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is home to white and black rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, and various antelope species. You will also explore the lake shores, where large flocks of flamingos and other bird species can be seen. Return to your lodge for dinner.
Day 8: Morning Game Drive and Relaxation
Start the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Afterward, return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the rest of the day at leisure. You may relax at the lodge, enjoy the views, or take optional activities depending on availability.
Day 9: Return to Nairobi and Departure
After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your safari.
