Day 1: Arrival in Uganda & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be met by your guide. After a warm welcome, begin your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a journey of approximately 8-9 hours. As you travel through Uganda’s rolling hills, lush countryside, and vibrant villages, enjoy the ever-changing landscapes. Stop briefly in towns like Mbarara for refreshments and a stretch.

Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi, nestled within the forested hills. Settle in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. After check-in, enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by a briefing about your upcoming gorilla trek. Your guide will explain safety guidelines and what to expect during the trek.

Relax overnight at your lodge, anticipating the adventure ahead—an unforgettable encounter with Uganda’s mountain gorillas.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, head to Bwindi’s park headquarters for a briefing on the gorilla trekking rules. Grouped with a few fellow trekkers, you’ll embark on a hike through the dense forest to find your assigned gorilla family. The trek may take 2-8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once found, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing them interact in their natural habitat.

Afterward, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a scenic 3-4 hour drive through rolling hills and villages. Along the way, you may spot wildlife like buffalo or antelope.

Arrive at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth, check in, and enjoy a relaxing dinner, with the option for an evening game drive if time permits.

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is rich in wildlife, and you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, buffalo, lions, and a variety of antelope species. The cool morning hours are perfect for viewing animals as they are more active.

Return to your lodge for a relaxing break and lunch.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway is teeming with wildlife, including hippos, elephants, and buffaloes. The cruise also offers great bird watching opportunities, with sightings of flamingos, kingfishers, and eagles.

After the boat ride, return to your lodge for dinner, reflecting on an exciting day of wildlife encounters.

Day 4: Transfer Back to Kampala

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may spot any wildlife you missed earlier, such as lions, elephants, or buffalo. The morning drive offers one last chance to soak in the park’s beauty before your journey back.

Return to the lodge for brunch and then prepare for your drive back to Kampala. The transfer takes approximately 6-7 hours, passing through scenic landscapes, rural villages, and lush farmlands. Along the way, you may stop for a break, stretch your legs, or grab a snack.

Upon arrival in Kampala, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your next destination. Reflect on the incredible wildlife experiences and unforgettable moments from your trip.
