After a refreshing break, continue your drive, with a lunch stop in Kisoro. Arriving in the late afternoon, you’ll check into your luxury lodge, nestled at the edge of the forest. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. You will be assigned to a specific gorilla family, and your expert guide will lead you through dense jungle and hilly terrain in search of the majestic mountain gorillas. The trek duration varies, from 2 to 8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Upon meeting the gorillas, spend one hour observing them interact with each other, eat, and relax in their natural environment. It’s a truly magical experience that will leave you in awe. Afterward, return to your lodge for lunch, and reflect on this unforgettable wildlife encounter. In the afternoon, depart for Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, a 3-4 hour drive through scenic landscapes and remote villages. Arriving at your lodge in the evening, enjoy a warm Rwandan welcome and dinner, resting before another gorilla trekking adventure the next day.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park & Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, head to the Volcanoes park headquarters for another gorilla trekking briefing. Your guide will lead you on a hike through the lush slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes in search of one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. The trek typically lasts 2 to 6 hours, offering stunning views of the volcanic mountains and diverse landscapes. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have an hour to observe them in their natural habitat, taking photos and learning about their behavior and conservation efforts. This experience will be just as special as the previous day’s trek. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely lunch at the lodge and relax before your journey back to Kigali. Departing in the afternoon, you’ll travel through Rwanda’s scenic countryside, with views of volcanoes, hills, and lakes. Arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon or evening, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel or the airport, concluding your memorable 3-day gorilla trekking adventure.
