Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
Our Uganda gorilla and chimp highlights trip starts with a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park where you will be picked by a guide at your hotel or from the airport. You will get there in the afternoon. Tonight, experience sleeping to the sounds of the tropical rainforest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk.
You will rise early for breakfast and be moved to Kanyanchu Tourist centre for briefing prior to the chimpanzee tracking activity. Have a morning spell in the forest as you track the Chimpanzees for about 2 to 3 hours which also allows you to explore other primates resident in this forest like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, butterflies, bird and others. You only have an hour to have a face to face encounter with the chimpanzees and then continue to the lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you have a bigodi swamp walk; this is an initiative of the local people geared towards conservation in this area. On this walk you have chances for different bird & butterfly species, primates like black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabeys, etc. There is also a variety of interesting plant species. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Today you will transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park through a beautiful landscape nicknamed the “Switzerland of Africa”, passing mountains, lakes, and hills with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest. On the last hill the landscape unfolds beneath us, offering great views of the vast planes. Drive through to Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at the choice accommodation.
Day 4: gorilla tracking in Bwindi.
Rise up early and feel the excitement as you get ready for this unforgettable experience! Have breakfast before you head out to assemble at the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, Meet and stay with the animals for a maximum of one hour, then descend to the park headquarters and then to your Lodge for lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala.
After your breakfast, we depart the lodge and make our way back to Kampala with stopovers for photography and lunch at the equator reaching late in the afternoon, and you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the airport for your departure flight.
