Day 1: Pickup from Kigali & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Your adventure begins with a scenic pickup from Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, at 8:00 AM. A comfortable drive takes you through the beautiful Rwandan countryside, offering views of rolling hills and vibrant villages, all leading you toward Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, enjoy a stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Arriving at your lodge in the park, settle in and take in the stunning surroundings of misty volcanoes. After checking in, spend the evening relaxing at your lodge, preparing for the next day’s golden monkey tracking. Dinner will be served at the lodge with a panoramic view of the park’s peaks. Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast, head out for an unforgettable golden monkey trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. These charming primates live in the bamboo forests of the park and are known for their lively behavior. Your guide will lead you through the forest, tracking the golden monkeys, offering you the chance to witness their playful interactions. After the trek, enjoy a packed lunch or return to the lodge for a relaxing meal. In the afternoon, you’ll depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The scenic drive will take approximately 4-5 hours, crossing the border into Uganda. Check into your lodge and enjoy an evening at leisure, reflecting on the day’s experiences. Dinner will be served at your lodge, where you can unwind and rest for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. Overnight stay in Bwindi.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, prepare for a life-changing experience: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to about half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. You’ll be briefed by park rangers before trekking into the dense jungle with your guide to track a gorilla family. The trek can vary in difficulty, but once you locate the gorillas, you’ll have an unforgettable hour to observe them in their natural habitat, watching the family interact and forage. After the trek, enjoy a picnic lunch or return to the lodge. In the afternoon, depart for Lake Bunyonyi, about 2-3 hours away, known for its serene beauty and picturesque islands. Check into your lakeside lodge and enjoy a peaceful evening by the water. Overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 4: Canoe Ride on Lake Bunyonyi & Transfer Back to Kigali
On your final day, enjoy a relaxing morning with a canoe or boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, often referred to as one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes. You’ll paddle through the crystal-clear waters, passing by small islands, lush landscapes, and local fishing villages. The tranquil environment offers a perfect conclusion to your Ugandan adventure. Afterward, return to your lodge for a late breakfast before departing for Kigali. The scenic drive back to Kigali will take approximately 4-5 hours, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of a memorable journey through Uganda and Rwanda.
