Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide and briefed about your journey. You will then begin your transfer to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The drive takes you through scenic countryside, traditional villages, and tea plantations. You will have a stopover for lunch en route before continuing to the park. Upon arrival, check into your lodge, relax, and prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After breakfast, head to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee trekking experience. Guided by experienced rangers, you will walk through the forest in search of chimpanzees. Once found, you will spend one hour observing their behavior, feeding, and interactions.

After returning to the lodge for lunch, you will visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature walk. This community-run project is rich in birdlife and primates such as colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, depart Kibale and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through the scenic landscapes of western Uganda, passing crater lakes, rolling hills, and rural communities. You may have lunch en route.

Arrive in Bwindi in the afternoon, check into your lodge, and relax as you prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking guidelines. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and begin your trek through the dense forest. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas.

Once you find them, you will spend one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, interact, and care for their young. After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Entebbe/ Kigali and Flight to Nairobi

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe/Kigali. Depending on your schedule, you may travel by road or take a domestic flight from a nearby airstrip. Upon arrival in Entebbe, connect to your international flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by your Kenyan guide and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Amboseli National Park – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and drive to Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey offers scenic views of the Kenyan countryside.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, go for an evening game drive where you may spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 7: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The park offers excellent opportunities to see wildlife against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

You may spot elephants bathing in swamps, lions resting in the shade, and a variety of antelopes and birds. You can also visit a Maasai village (optional) to learn about their culture and traditions. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. You may travel by road or take a domestic flight for a quicker journey.

Arrive in the Maasai Mara in the afternoon, check into your lodge or camp, and enjoy lunch. Later, go for an evening game drive in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, and other wildlife.

Day 9: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

Spend a full day exploring the Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is known for its high concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five.

If traveling during the migration season, you may witness the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains and rivers. You may also choose to take an optional hot air balloon safari for a unique aerial view of the landscape.
