Detailed Itinerary of 15 Days Uganda and Kenya Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your safari guide who will brief you about your 15 Days Uganda Primates and Kenya Classic Safari. You will then be transferred to your hotel for relaxation. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre or relax by Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. The scenic drive takes you through lush countryside, tea plantations, and rural villages. You will have lunch in Fort Portal before continuing to the park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax in preparation for chimpanzee trekking.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Nature Walk

Begin your day with an early breakfast and head to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing before entering the forest to track chimpanzees. Once located, spend one hour observing them as they feed, groom, and interact. Other primates and birds may also be seen. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, known for its biodiversity and community conservation efforts. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive offers scenic views of crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, you may enjoy a short game drive en route to your lodge, spotting elephants, antelopes, and buffaloes. Check in, relax, and prepare for the next day’s activities.

Day 5: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you may spot lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you will see large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species along the shores.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. You may spot these unique predators resting in fig trees. Continue through the scenic Kigezi Highlands and arrive in Bwindi in the evening. Check in at your lodge and relax.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, trek through the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once found, spend one hour observing them. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. Later, visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest lifestyle, music, and culture.

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe. You may travel by road with scenic stopovers, including the Equator for photos and lunch, or take a domestic flight for convenience. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax.

Day 9: Flight to Nairobi and Transfer to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, meet your Kenyan guide and transfer to Amboseli National Park. The park is famous for its large elephant herds and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for check-in and evening relaxation at your lodge.

Day 10: Game Drives in Amboseli National Park

Spend the day exploring Amboseli National Park on morning and afternoon game drives. You will have excellent opportunities to see elephants up close, along with lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. The backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro provides incredible photographic moments.

Day 11: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve via Nairobi or by domestic flight (optional). Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive across the vast savannah plains, where you may spot big cats, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras.

Day 12: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

Spend a full day exploring Maasai Mara with packed lunch. Search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and other wildlife. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains.

Day 13: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

Enjoy another day of game drives in different areas of the reserve. This allows for more wildlife sightings and photography opportunities. You may also opt to visit a Maasai village to learn about their traditions and lifestyle.

Day 14: Return to Nairobi – City Tour

After breakfast, return to Nairobi. Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour which may include visits to the Giraffe Centre, David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, or local craft markets. Check in at your hotel for relaxation.

Day 15: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your 15 Days Uganda Primates and Kenya Classic Safari.
