Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast in Kampala, you will meet your driver-guide and begin your journey դեպի southwestern Uganda. Along the way, you will stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photography and a brief demonstration of the northern and southern hemispheres. The journey continues with another stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and an optional visit to the Erijukiro Museum, which showcases the culture of southwestern Uganda.

You will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise along the Kazinga Channel

Start your day early with a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in the park. Here, you may spot elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, and hyenas, among others. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 600 bird species including African skimmers, martial eagles, and pelicans.

After lunch, you will enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. This cruise offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and animals gathering along the shores.

Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, traveling through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. If lucky, you may spot them resting in fig trees.

Continue the journey with a lunch stop en route and a visit to a local coffee plantation in Kanungu, where you will learn about traditional coffee growing and its importance to local communities. You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will hike through the dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas.

Once you find them, you will spend up to one hour observing and photographing these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

After the trek, return and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic lakes, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kampala

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala, passing through the scenic highlands of the Kigezi region. You will have a lunch stop in Mbarara, with an optional visit again to Igongo Cultural Centre for cultural experiences and relaxation.

Continue the drive to Kampala, arriving in the evening, marking the end of your safari.
