Day 1: Transfer early morning from Kampala to the equator line for photography.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest lasts about 2-6 hours with a maximum of 1 hour in the presence of the gorillas.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala
3-Day Gorilla Trekking Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your journey begins early in the morning with a pick-up by your driver-guide from your hotel or residence. You will travel դեպի southwestern Uganda, making a memorable stop at the Equator for photos and a brief experience standing between the northern and southern hemispheres.
The journey continues through scenic landscapes, including rolling hills, farmlands, and rural towns. Lunch is served en route before proceeding to Bwindi, where you will arrive in the evening. After check-in at your lodge, you can relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority guides. During this session, you’ll learn about gorilla trekking rules, safety guidelines, and group allocation. Each group of up to 8 people is assigned to a specific gorilla family based on fitness levels.
The trek begins as you venture into the dense forest accompanied by experienced rangers. The duration can range from 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. The terrain can be steep, muddy, and challenging, but the experience is incredibly rewarding.
Once you find the gorillas, you are allowed up to one hour in their presence. This is a rare opportunity to observe their behavior, watch them feed and interact, and take photographs in their natural habitat.
After the trek, you return to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla trekking certificate, then head back to your lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Kampala/Entebbe
On your final day, enjoy breakfast before beginning your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. The drive offers another chance to take in Uganda’s beautiful countryside, from the scenic Kigezi highlands to the central plains.
You will have lunch along the way and arrive in the late afternoon or early evening. Drop-off can be arranged at your hotel or the airport for your onward travel.
