This 8-day Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari takes you through the country’s most iconic destinations, combining chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and classic wildlife experiences in Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Optional shoebill tracking
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore nearby attractions such as the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Mabamba swamp for shoebill tracking or relax at the lodge.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the Equator for a photo stop. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive where you may see zebras, impalas, buffalo, and eland. Optional activities include a boat cruise or horseback safari.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy a morning game drive before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The scenic drive takes you through rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and local communities. Arrive in the evening and settle into your lodge overlooking the forest.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. Once found, spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat.
In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest lifestyle, music, and culture.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha
Depart Bwindi and drive through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive en route and continue to your lodge for check-in and relaxation.

Day 6: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you may spot elephants, buffalo, lions, antelopes, and various bird species.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife along the shores.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park, passing scenic crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains. Arrive in the afternoon and relax at your lodge in preparation for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking and Return to Entebbe
After an early breakfast, head to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking. After a briefing, enter the forest in search of chimpanzees and other primates. Once located, spend one hour observing their behavior in the wild.
After the trek, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe with lunch en route, arriving in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
